IUNC red-listing workshop

On 7/8 July 2019 a Two-days IUCN red-listing workshop was hold as pre-conference satellite event of the IAB / iMoss / SEB meeting, targeted at BSG members, and other interested bryologists.

The workshop was made possible by a generous grant by the Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund, IAB support, an IUCN SSC Internal Grant, and contributions by the Royal Botanic Garden in Madrid. The participants prepared for the workshop in advance by completing the online training on IUCN Red List assessments. Two certified IUCN Red List trainers, whose working time was covered by their IUCN home organisations, professionally and enthusiastically lead the training

Twenty-nine bryologists from 21 countries all over the world participated in the training. They greatly appreciated the training opportunity, the networking and they rated the workshop content, organisation and materials as good to excellent.

Please have a look at the program of the workshop, and the complete workshop presentations that are accessible from here.

A more detailed report on the training workshop is published in Bryological Times (link).
